Loving a little challenge, I decided to incorporate P90X into my half marathon training. P90X is tough!!! You will love it and hate it at the same time. It sucks. It's hard. I actually talk back to the TV. What I love most about it so far (other than being able to do it in my living room with my 3 year old) is: You see some results the first 30 days- and THAT gets you excited to keep going. Eventually you will love seeing Tony every day! I have 3 kids, and I work, and it's hard to to find the time... but it IS doable. I basically did the P90X doubles routine back to back. So... most days were "2 a day" days that took over 2 hours.
The first week was hard!! I tend to push myself and ended up being so incredibly sore, after my first Plyometrics, that I could not walk the following days (and seriously wondered if I needed to go to the doctor)!! Around week 3 or 4, the demands of "doubles" hit me and I was exhausted. I had to take 2 days off and recover some. I returned to the schedule and followed through to the end of my program. IT WAS TOUGH but increased my speed greatly. It was worth the 2 plus hour days!!
